Conformation is the beauty pageant of the dog world.  Each recognized AKC breed has a written standard detailing what the ideal dog of that breed should look like.  Judges then pick their winners dog or winners female based on how close the dog is to the ideal breed standard. To become a champion, a dog must earn 15 points under at least 3 different judges.  Dogs can earn 1-5 points per show and must have 2 shows with 3-5 points values in their total of 15 points.

In our classes, dogs learn to stand (stack) and hold that pose while having their mouth examined and their body felt from nose to tail by the judge.  Handlers learn ring procedure, how to stack their dog, and how to move at the correct speed to show off their dog's best features.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or for more information.
